KULDEVI: SHRI ISHWARI MATA

Situated 20 KM from Ahmedabad in Gandhinagar district, connected by Tar road, consists of approx 10000 people population, mainly of Vaishnav and Jain, having Temple of ISHWARI MATA, VARAHI MATAT, AMBAJI MATA, KALIKA MATA, RAM MANDIR, RADHA KRISHNA, RADHA VALLABH, RANCHODRAI, SWAMINARAYAN and JAIN DERASARS etc., is an ancient village having ancient VAV (Well), added attraction of Sitaram Madhi and Ramdevpir Bethak is also there.

Ancient times it was known as UMA NAGARI , it is said that when Pandava's having VAN VAAS , they stayed here few days, Arjun had VRAT of performing Puja of Shivling then only he use to take input, at that time there was no Shiv temple here and he was compelled to do fast, Bhima worried for Arjun and also wanted to test the faith, put vessel upside down and arrange mud around creating Shape of Shivling, asked arjun to perform Puja and brake the fast, Arjun with all his faith performed his puja and took the lunch, then Bhima informed Arjun that he had created Shivling and was not original, there after Arjun attacked with weapon on that so called Shivling but to every bodies surprise it was converted to Shivling, the marks of the weapon are still visible on that shivling even today, known as ANGESHWER MAHADEV.

The main attraction is KULDEVI ISHWARI MATA , the temple was rebuild some 40 years back, and that day was CHAITRA SUD 15, every year on this day Nav Chandi Yagna , Puja Havan is performed, creates Holy atmosphere, people from different cities Ahmedabad, Pune, Mumbai, Surat, Sangli, Kolhapur Jalana etc make point to attend and take this opportunity for Darshan, all facilities are arranged by Uvarsad Vanik Mahajan, name of the next year Lucky person to particpate in Puja is announced, with the blessing of KULDEVI ISHWARI MATA, mostly this is registered well in advance, in this unique function people gather and take opportunity to meet, introduce each other.

After rebuilding the temple of KULDEVI ISHWARI MATA it is known that there is upward trend in wealth of Uvarsad people, then unforgettably visit temple on all holy days of Diwali, and every POONAM, newly married couple take Darshan here and untie KANKAN DORA.

On Maha Sud 15 every year people visit here in procession by walking from Sabarmati and perform Darshan of KULDEVI ISHWARI MATA.
