KULDEVI: SHRI MATARI MATA

Situated 22 KM from Ahmedabad in Gandhinagar district, on Ahmedabad Himmatnagar Highway, beautiful village on the banks of river SABARMATI.

Originally known as Ballark Nagari had strong Fort, the remains are still visible on the eastern side while entering in the village as Gate, with the rise in the wealth of the resident of this town, it was famous through out India, in 14 th century Alluddin Khili attacked Gujarat, all Brahmin Died in war, the weight of the JANOI of this Brahmin weighted nearly 25 kgs, in memory even today a lake known as JANOI TALAV is there.

Having population of approx 3000, mainly Brahamin., Vaishnav, Jain, Rajput etc.,

A Temple of KUL DEVI MATARI MATA, MAHAKALI MATA, RAM MANDIR, BALLARK MANDIR, KOCHESHWER MAHADEV and AJITNATH DERASAR apart a ancient Statue of one Rishi in PADMASAN is available in one house. On the outskirt near Gate a Mahila Sanyas Ashram is also situated.

A group of 5 village mainly Valad, Indroda, Chandkheda, Por and Kudasan, perform PALLI of MATARI MATA, turn of every one comes on rotation, from 01.03.1941 to till 1997 was performed on Phagan Sud 3, but with the grace of MATARI MATA the same is performed on BHADARVA SUD 15 every year and people go on foot from OMKAR Shahibag to Valad.

With the blessing of Mata the temple is decorated with colorful Glass pasted, beautiful entrance, broad compound with guest house, is worth visiting.
